(DWPG-UT 1045 001)
Washington Square: 721B 760
Tuesday and Thursday: 4:30 PM–7:35 PM
Notes: Combined with DWPG-GT 2045 and NCRD-UT 8004. This intermediate level screenwriting course is designed to expand on the concepts introduced in Screenwriting I by focusing on feature screenplay writing. The goal of the class is the completion of a first draft of an original feature length screenplay, after developing a pitch, a synopsis and an outline. The reading and analysis of six to eight screenplays is required in conjunction with the student’s original work. Lectures integrate writing work with presentations emphasizing understanding of basic screenplay format, structure, theme, story, plot, character development and film language continued from Screenwriting I.
